Thank you so much for this post! People are usually shocked when I tell them that I run 10-15 miles a week, and they are DEFINITELY shocked when my BF tells them that he does, too (we're both fatties -- I wear size 14 US and he's a 42-44 waist). On the other side, I sometimes feel like other fats chafe when I talk about running or working out. I am very heartened to read some fat positive fitness posts. Props to all the fathletes!

I totally agree. I take strength training classes, because I love that they make me feel strong. I'm not doing it to lose weight, and I love the muscles I have now.

Hi Nick,<br>Great post! I have been walking for about 2 years now, but it wasn't until I found FA and started to do it for my health that I really stuck with it, enjoyed it and looked forward to doing it. I've been able to see all of the improvements that you mentioned and that feels amazing. Being free from the weight obsession has allowed me to become more fit and to get enjoyment from my activities. The exercise ball thing sounds interesting - I think I'll give it a try since I hate my office chair anyway. Best of luck with your health and fitness goals. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Hum...

I think there are two types of peole, those who accept the much promoted notions of health and fitness, and those who don't.

Some of them are fat, some of them are thin.

I personally cannot stand 'fitness' 'exercise' so-called 'healthy eating' and all that.

It's not that I don't have notions of health and wellbeing, they just rarely co-incide with what they're supposed to.

I've learnt to be at ease with that.

I do not believe that 'hard work' is required to maintain the human body in good or even optimum condition. I am not an athlete, I have absolutely no desire to be one or be like one, although I admire them running fast and jumping high and the like.

Just thought I'd put it out there.
